In Amiras feet

In Amiras feet

Bombs hit houses breaking like an easter egg , people screaming for their lives. Dead bodies everywhere planes were surrounding us. The bombs were getting closer and closer as the houses were being destroyed one by one in our village.

Suddenly a rocket landed on our roof of our house but no one was injured. As we trotted to the huts, my heart was pounding. Our house was totally destroyed after that rocket blow up.

Our dad took us out of the country thought a smuggler. We escaped that night in a rental car.We hide under the seats when we went pass the checkpoint and the driver covered  us up.

We crossed the border illegally through the mountains. We got out near the border and we had to walk about one hundred meters. when we heard a sound of a plane we started running we were very scared.

When we arrived at the camp we were staying at there were thousands of tents there. We bought materials for our tent the materials that we used were wood, plastic sheets. The men built our tent for us. Out tent has two rooms and a kitchen area. There 13 people living with us in this tent.

Our next door neighbours helped out by giving us some bottled water, mattress, blankets, cups, and plates. We could pick up at any time , as we don't have anything  of value here. My most treasured thing is my jewelure. I wear them all at the same time, because they have many meomries. One was from my boyfriend  but i don't want my mum to know  about that.

At home things were very cheap but here things are really expensive. We even have to pay for water. In winter there was snow halfway up the sides of our tent and we couldn't even see out of our tent.At home we had our own bedroom , but here we all sleep together in the tent on the ground.

We can't go to school here or jobs because at the moment there are no jobs available because too many people are looking for work.We don't even have any books so we just help out  with dinner and cleaning. To pass the time we do each others hair or  watch tv. We also make some clothes for each other.

The people that are not registered to stay at the refugee camp they hide out in the mountains and then the smugglers check them in and then when the smugglers have finished they come back to the refugee camp. It's also nice to know that there are other people out there that have the same solution as us.
